Our Discipleship Process
At First Baptist Church Whitesburg, we believe discipleship is a lifelong process of becoming more like Christ. Our discipleship process can be summarized in three words: Gather, Grow, and Go.
GATHER
People enter into the life of our church through our gatherings. Our primary gathering is Sunday morning at 11:00 AM, when we come together as a church family to worship God, hear His Word, and encourage one another.
GROW
From there, we seek to grow mature believers in their relationship with God. This happens through Sunday School, where we learn the core truths of Scripture, biblical stories, and the foundations of the Christian faith.
We also grow through our Discipleship Groups, which meet throughout the week. These smaller groups provide an opportunity to grow both in our knowledge of God's Word and in our ability to apply it to our everyday lives.
GO
Finally, we are called to GO. We encourage every member to serve in at least one area within the church and to take the gospel beyond the walls of the church—to our friends, our neighbors, our community, and the ends of the earth.
Discipleship is not a program with a finish line. It is a continual process of gathering, growing, and going as we follow Christ together.
Until the Lord returns, we continue to GATHER, GROW, and GO.
