Jesus commands us in Matthew 25:35-40 to minister and provide for the “least of these” who are those that are in need of nourishment, clothing, love, and other basic requirements in life.
This ministry seeks to help school children in need by providing them with backpacks filled with food to take home for the weekend.
Scriptures calls us to provide for each other’s needs as well as to take care of the needs of those in our community. We endeavor to do this through helping other with material needs as well as financial.
Deacons in scripture are the epitome of servants. This group of men serves First Baptist Church through assisting in various ways in order to free the Pastor up to study the word and lead the congregation.
The Food Pantry, located across the parking lot, is not a part of our church, but many of our members volunteer there to meet the needs of families in our area.
This ministry assists families in the event of a loss through prayer, support, and a meal following the funeral.
Every other week a group from our church goes to Letcher Manor Nursing Home to lead in a worship/fellowship time with the residents.
